Verizon Wireless and Rhapsody Launch V CAST Music Service

Verizon Wireless and Rhapsody recently announced the launch of the V CAST Music with Rhapsody, providing customers with unlimited monthly access to music. Verizon Wireless it teaming with Rhapsody, a RealNetworks digital music service, to deliver music at the approximate cost of a CD.
 
“Working with Verizon Wireless, we are able to extend the reach of the award-winning Rhapsody service to millions of mobile phones,”said Rob Williams, senior vice president of music products for RealNetworks, in a statement. “V CAST Music with Rhapsody gives mobile phone users the best experience of any music service on the market while also giving them access to unlimited music, whether at home or on-the-go.”
 
The V CAST Music with Rhapsody will enable customers to purchase music over-the-air for $1.99. Customers will also be able to download the master copy to their PCs (Personal Computers) in the digital rights management (DRM)-free MP3 format. Downloading the V CAST Music with Rhapsody Software and a monthly subscription will help customers get access to more than five million songs.
 
With the V CAST Music with Rhapsody, customers will not only be able to create their own playlists but will also have access to viewing celebrity playlists. Apart from being able to buy non-protected MP3 songs for 99 cents per song, customers will also be free to play them anywhere after they burn, import or convert the CDs. They will also be able to connect their music collection to their mobile phones.
 
“V CAST Music with Rhapsody fulfills Verizon's promise to deliver the best mobile experience to our customers,” said John Harrobin, senior vice president of digital media and marketing for Verizon, in a statement. “Now, music fans can not only get the benefit of immediate access to music over-the-air, but also -- through our partnership with Rhapsody -- they can connect their mobile music and devices they carry with them everyday with the ultimate desktop experience.”
 
With a huge collection of different genres of songs, the V CAST Music with Rhapsody software can be downloaded from its website for free. At a monthly subscription rate of $14.99, it can be accessed on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players.
